Hey all. I was considering hostgator reseller package for some new domains am considering, and someone told me about seohosting. Has anyone used seohosting, and also what are the pros and cons of seohosting over a reseller package with hostgator?

  • It depends on what your needs are. For example: Godaddy is very difficult to do WP blogs on but great for snitz forum. To get those two entities to get along, forum & WP Blog... that was a nightmare! The forum is great but the blog still sucks. Be careful when you step out and do make sure your site, forum, & blog all get along there. Sorry I could not help more on the SEOHosting deal.

    • Thanks for the advice. I already use hostgator reseller account to host the sites/blogs I own. Prefer that over Godaddy. However, instead of upgrading my hostgator account to accommodate the new sites I am developing, I was noticing that seohosting sets up each new site with it's own unique C class IP and other various parameters. From what I read this would keep each new site completely seperate in the eyes of search engines and would avoid any kind of site bleeding or link juice, e.t.c...

I'm trying to figure out if the benefits of having this style of hosting is more beneficial to me - enough so for me to shell out the extra cash.

  • I'd go with another provider for a couple of reasons:

If you think the C-class SEO theory is true, you can do some interlinking between sites on the different accounts.

If HostGator goes down or there is some other problem with your account, you still have half your sites up and running at the other host.

    • True, I never thought about it like that. My goal is to get 35 sites up by October, and I'm over half way there now. It would be a right pain in the @#$ should ALL the sites go down. Talk about overlooking the obvious

      Thanks bro!

  • interesting I'll take a look at seohost, but certainly this looks like a marketing tact right from the idea stage, sounds like a familiar scenario from a book ("the leader in you, how to win friends and influence people" - the great Dale Carnegie)
