The thing about Google PageRank...

Hello WarriorForums users,

I'm rethreading this after it was locked on the wrong part of WF.... thought the mods would have moved it but whatever..

I'm a bit confused over Google pagerank science...

Is Google Pagerank different from Longtailpro Keyword Competitiveness?

After reading an article on Cloudincome, I found out how valuable longtailpro KC is in term of finding those gold niches which are easy to rank for with high monthly search. From what I read, it's quite mind blowing. I always thought finding a golden niche is super hard but with help of keyword competitiveness which LTP gives you, it seriously cuts down good amount of labor.

What it basically does from what I understand is that for a single keyword, it puts a KC number for each of the domain shown by Google. The lower the KC, the lower the competition to rank your niche website. It determines the number by taking into consideration of the domain's age, backlinks, quality of backlinks, etc.

Just like most guru recommended SEO software, the tool isn't free [trial for 10 exist tho] and expensive for starters like me who haven't made a quarter of a dime online. Does Google Pagerank does the same? Are they both the numbers similar? Which is more reliable? More up to date?

Regards

  • Pagerank and kc are different. Page rank is for a specific page of a site and kc is the general competition.

Long tail pro is def the way to go.

    • Really? I read a brief theory on Google Pagerank and they say the quality of the website is determined by its backlinks, article, website content, number of the pages on the site, meta tags, etc. They combine all three to determine the pagerank for it. The higher the rank, the more authority it has to stay on top of the food chain for the specific keyword. Does KC do the same for each domain as well? It provide a rating for the domains listed for the keyword.

So there is no free alternate for it other then 10 day free trial? How can I maximize the tool within 10 day grace period? Like the author of Cloudnine somehow magically found a niche keyword and pasted it on Longtailpro to see the competition level, my problem is how on earth did he find that niche keyword to begin with.

  • PageRank has little to do with the competitiveness for a single keyword.

  • When using LTP, and I think its called the platinum version to get a KC rating there are many other things to take into account to determine if a key word is easy or hard to rank for. To learn far more than I can tell you have a look at the appropiate site.
