Hey all,

Was doing a bit of research, getting more involved as a webmaster, revisiting something I looked into a while ago, but never really got into it since my few sample websites never did well.

Are micro-niches worth the time, and how profitable can you expect a small microniche with a few thousand searches to be? Any tips for getting it to rank without blasting keywords (not very Penguin friendly so I hear).

Any advice, comments, or opinions appreciated Thanks for tolerating my somewhat "nooby" first thread.

Building micro niche sites were a good idea before Google latest updates.

It will become difficult for you to achieve ranking for micro-niche sites because for each site you need quality content.

Micro-niche sites do not have many pages and without quality content these are not going to rank well in Google. If they are not going to rank then there will be no traffic.

It is better to have one or few sites with 1000s of unique pages of content.

You can only do this, in a quality format, by focusing on one domain instead of 50.

You would be better off focusing all of your efforts on one niche, and building out 1 site.

Unless you are planning to outsource this (which means many other people will be handing your work), it is better to put all of your time and energy into growing one website as you will increase your odds of succeeding.

That's kind of what I gathered, thanks.

I wouldn't believe all the hype about content, backlinks are still king when it comes to seo

From my own testing and experience, I'd say this is very much true.

Single page, "micro" niche site. He was ranked #1 for the longest. Even after the updates.

Don't believe everything you read, test it for yourself.

They do still work, just don't over optimize.

A few websites, a few hundred websites, to each their own.

Are micro-niches worth the time? Yes.
How profitable can they be? Depends on where your keyword is positioned in the buying cycle.
Tips for getting ranked without blasting? Build PBN links slowly.
