Can Wikipedia help in Branding???

Can we do anything with Wikipedia ??? Read somewhere that Wikipedia can create positive awareness and all .. Can we just submit an article about our product or company? How does it work actually..

  • Wikipedia is easy to place links on, they have edit links on there in multiple places. The onlly problem is that almost every linnk you will ever place on there will get deleted by one of the moderators. Some people get them to stick, but t is damn hard.

    The reason most IMers can't get a Wikipedia link to stick is because IMers usually make it obvious they're biased towards a product/service which is against Wikipedia policies.

    I still (today) have plenty of established links on Wikipedia.

    The links are nofollow, so take that for what it is. Still, IMO Wikipedia is a good idea to be listed as a citation.

  • Yes you can just submit an article about your company or products. And you do not have to worry about your links getting deleted unless your site is a thin affiliate site.
