Google Ranking System on 2014

Hi warriors,

How you are people experience with Google ranking these days? I am completely frustrated seeing the Google ranking system these days. Website that have very poor onpage and offpage staff, ranking well on google.

Now I am confuse whether to build link or not. Even 1-2 of my website come on ranking without any backlinks and some are having good amount of backlinks but still not coming on ranking.

Please share your experience with Google ranking and what are the strategy you are owning these days for getting ranking.

  • It's important to understand this about Google's algorithm:

    Nothing is guaranteed

    For example, if you create two websites on the same topic targetting the same keywords and optimized in the same way with an equal number of backlinks of the same type, one may rank well and the other may not.

    So what you have to do is continue building links and publishing fresh content. Some websites take a long time to gain traction in Google while others do so fast.

      I read the post, the post is nice. I also assume that there is no any assurance of which website will rank and which will not, if you do linkbuilding for a particular website, that website might not be rank, but a website without building link might rank.

    • Is it easy to rank for you? But it is not for me, I have more than 40 websites, I get easy ranking for one, not for other 39.

      I am just analyzing competitor's website, but nothing getting any clue why those websites are ranking without any good SEO profile.

  • If you're building a new site then be prepared to wait a month or more to see any rankings after the latest update. For older sites, it's business as usual as long as you're building the right links

    • Exactly. Poorly formatted sites with a lot of external links took a massive blow from Panda. Without knowing much about OP's websites I can't say for sure, but like 3mdigital is saying you need fresh, high quality content with very few external links. Some authority sites can get away with tons of links, but they're the exception to the rule.
  • I think Google will prefer authority sites and avoid affiliate marketer's sites.
  • google definitely value more for authority sites,the sites u see is from aged auhtority website adn had trust for years so no wonder they are entirely trusted.
  • Content is the king right now. You want to make Google like your site by adding authority content.
