Will 25 PR5+ Backlinks do anything towards my PR and SERPs?

Was just wondering. I have submitted some blog comments to 25 PR 5, 7, and 8 blogs. I plan on doing around 100 a night. In the day time I'll be writing articles.

I'm curious to how many backlinks it takes to have an effect on your PR. I know SERPs are a little different as it depends on the search results for the particular keyword.

Any information?

For sure it'll have an effect. You need to be focused on the link text (also called anchor text) and ensure it includes the keyword you want to rank for. Links from such high-PR sites will for sure cause your site to be visited quickly by the google crawler, indexed, and ranked on the search engine.

Noone can say how FAST this will happen. Noone really knows how many links you need, either. It's an art, not a science.

If you want to help google understand your site, create a site map and also submit it manually using google's webmaster tools.

So far I have done over 200! My eyes feel dry, my fingers are aching. Bottle of Bud is keeping me going. I'm hoping the hard work pays off. He he.

I've found that any comment links no matter what the PR of a blog are considered very low value by Google.

I tried a similar thing a few months ago using PR6 links from a national newspaper that allowed do-follow comments. I worked hard putting in around 60 or so comments pointing at my homepage plus deep linking to older posts with their main and long tail keywords mixing it up so as not to raise any flags. 3 months on and the PR of my site did not rise from its lowly PR2. Its SERPS position went up a little but nothing to write home about. The niche was a tough one - weight loss (long-ish tail) and my site currently sits on page 2, but that's probably more to do with more recent article marketing.

That's just my own experience. Others may have been luckier than me, but don't hold out too much hope on blog comments. You're better off article marketing!

Well I have got success with high PR links, I have moved to PR4 from PR N/A with the help of 1 PR 7+ link and 15 PR4+ links, Even all are fron OFF topic blogs, however, I have placed an anchor text pointing to my site, So, I have got good PR + good SERP..... But, I was waiting for 4-5 days after compelting my blog commenting....... So, we cannot say there are not use of it, There is... But, If you get all 60 PR6+ links from one domain, I don't think that will be more helpful as getting 10 PR4+ links from 10 domains......... :p

    There's no set rule, unfortunately!

SERPs are much more important than PR so you MUST assess the current competition on Google's page one results for your keyword phrases.

If you see a lot of high PR sites, then it will take you a long time....That's when you should try different keyword phrases for your articles so that your articles can move quickly up the SERPs

PR is not always a good indicator of SERPs authority. I can outrank a PR6 site with a PR0 one as long as I have more keyword anchored backlinks from authority sites than the PR6 site.

Sure it can take some time depending upon the niche and the competition of the keyword but its very doable. There are plenty of free tools around to assess the competition's backlinks and their anchors. Once you know that info, you can work on outranking them by getting more than them!

Strong, keyword anchored backlinks are definitely the secret to dominating the SERPs.

        What free tools are these?

As for the post above me, I think I'm going to stop now and document what I did and keep checking every now and then. The site is a blog, wordpress, lots of unique articles. Keyword I am targeting is low, although it will defiantly rise over the months.

Ive placed no affiliates on the site as of yet. I want to gain a strong user base and some subscribers. If users see no ads there likely to think it's not another blog out to make cash. PR and SERP's atm is what I am focusing on.

h**p://www.backlinkwatch.com is pretty good for sussing out competing sites.

As for the above comment, sure, you can collect links from a lot of different domains, but the fact remains they are comment links and all comment links are treated as very low quality by Google. Why? Because these are links you can obtain for yourself

The best links to get are links that are given in-post by site/blog owners to sites that have relevant info to their post. This you can make use of by guest posting on other people's blogs, especially ones with some decent PR. Not so easy, but if you search around and ask nicely, some actually do let you.

you can be sure it will have effect but why stop, it is advisable to continue getting links. if you stop, other sites will overtake you and take your place in the search engine.

Sometimes its wise not to go too fast building links. Stopping every so often will not allow the competition to steal a march on you unless you are targeting a really competitive niche. If you're doing that, then you'll need a heck of a lot more powerful links than comments to see off any competition anyway.

Lowe competition niches are much easier to dominate SERPs with fewer links of lower quality.

Is it any effective standard of how many link we build to our site?? I'm new to Internet marketing, and currently experimenting Angela's backlinks method to push up my site's rank in google search, I'm curious whether too aggressive building links to my site would cause unwanted effect in return for a long run.

    Sorry!

The likely result of this particular link-building exercise is that your website will be Google sandboxed for the keywords you used as anchors.

Twenty-five PR5, 7, or 8 backlinks added in ONE DAY is an unnatural PageRank distribution for all but the most active, oldest, largest, most authoritative sites - think CNN or the like. My guess, and please correct me if I am wrong, is that your site isn't very old, large, or authoritative.

If you are currently ranking at any level for the keywords you are promoting I suggest that you STOP linkbuilding and observe what happens for a week or so. My expectation is that your keywords will sink out of sight on the Google SERPs.

It could have a huge effect...

If you slow down a bit you PR will jump...
But if you go to fast Google will ban you because you are building unnatural back links.

Well I imagine that it will do some, however there are many variables.

    To name a few:
    • How relevant were the blogs you posted on?
    • Was each comment unique? (I happen to believe unique content surrounding the link makes a difference)
    • How many external links were there on the blogs you posted on? (other comments leaving links for example)
    • Did you leave anchor text with targeted key phrases?
    • Were the comments Do Follow?
25 high PR links will of course make a difference, however how much difference depends largely on a lot of onsite properties as mentioned above. At the end of the day though, in answer to your question, yes it will of course help.
