Does the domain name I have get higher ranking

Ok so lets say the keyword :"make money" has 33,000 searches a month.

If I own the domain name makemoney.com will my site rank on the first page when someone searches "make money" or will it rank high anyway?

    It's possible if it's a low competition keyword but you'll need backlinks to rank for higher competition keywords. Exact match domains have lost their special ranking power. Now they rank just like branded or partial match domains and there is a greater risk of over-optimising your site when using them.

    It's not gonna rank on the first page just because it is exact match domain but definitely will do better better if you are optimized it well. EMD'd still have value.

    You have to add quality content, I recommend over and over again because people doesnt understand the value of this simple BIBLE of knowledge which Google just lays on the table:

    Please read this link and you will have your answer parad. The domain name is just one of hundrets factors which affect the ranking algorithm.

    To answer your question, will a matched domain name guarantee me 1st page?
    Absolutely not.

    Does it help?
    A little bit (not immense, its just preferable and 10% easier with it)

    Should I avoid it?
    It depends on the value and branding you wanna bring in with your site. You don't have to avoid or use it mandatory. If this is going to be a low quality just traffic generating website you can go with the keyword because you won't get other factors done the "quality" way, but if this is oriented for a serious business definately branding or connecting branding with halfway keyword is okay.

    Thank everyone for the tips. So its content content content. I'm thinking about adding a feature where all my members get their own blogs as well as offering a article database on the home page and have guest bloggers write articles in addition to my own. Which I think will boost the content ten fold and do wonders on the ranking.

    I'm just trying to get a good idea on what I should implement before the development and design of my site, so its SEO correct right from the start. Any tips on what I should avoid or have done while having the design / development ?

    Make sure your HTML is as perfect as possible and don't use a ton of large HD files or vids that slow down loading times.

    Thanks Laubuster. Can you elaborate on "bunch" of large HD files or vids. I plan on having a video on the main page and a video for the payplan page. Will that effect my results? Or will having only a couple videos be fine?

      A CDN is a content delivery network that serves large files and streams extremely faster than web hosting servers can or ever would. It's useful if you are hosting large files or streams on your site.

    I wouldn't go out of your way to get an EMD but if you can get one that fits in with your business and makes sense with how you want to brand your busines then I would get one as every little helps.

    You can rank if it is low competition keyword . But in case of make money is very very hard to rank on first page you need well optimized site and offline SEO to rank on first page
