Affiliate Amazon Sites

Hi I have an affiliate site that I really never do anything with, its a small niche with very low traffic and it's never made much money for me.

The site used to rank between 1 and 7 on the first page of Google but awhile back it dropped to nowhere. I think it's because my site has affiliate links to Amazon on every single page.

What's the best way to set up an Amazon Affiliate site without having links on every page but still getting the traffic to Amazon?

I'm potentially losing around $3 a year here lol, but seriously is it better to redirect all the affiliate links to 1 affiliate page and link that to Amazon, or would I still get stung for that?

Any help is appreciated.

  • The best thing you can do to resolve the issue is dilute the monetisation of your site by adding purely informational articles to your site that don't contain any affiliate links.
  • You need to ghost the links, otherwise Google doens't take too kindly to it. Then it comes down to number of products, platform, hosting, etc. Then you have the marketplace issue which is starting to go downhill due to the trust issues. You might want to dillute to other networks and retailers.
  • This guys plugin might help: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ed-google.html It will completely make affiliate links.

Another option is WordPress Amazon Affiliate Store Builder Plugin - Prosociate. You can build out an entire amazon site and there won't be any Amazon affiliate links. When a buyer wants to buy a product on your site it goes into Amazon's shopping cart. But Google won't see any affiliate links. So it should be able to rank in Google if you know how to do seo.

    • Can anyone read the replies here with a straight face?

Amazon "affiliate" links are not the crappy kind. And if you
use the iframe, there's no link anyway...just saying...

Google encourages you to add amazon on blogspot, ad nauseum.

You've never made squat with the site. What's with the sudden interest?

It made no money at #1, no money at #7, and you care that it's not ranked
      highly anymore?

      SEO Power, you rock!!!!!
