Two sites of same niche with same owner ?

Is that safe with Google updates and everything ? Could that be a risk of getting a penalty or that pretty much not a problem?

An example why one might do that is if one site is dealing with an algorithm penalty so a second site may help give more a chance to rank.

Any ideas?

Thanks

    It's no big deal.

I've been ranking multiple domain/pages for the same keywords for years, I'm sure others were doing it long before I started.

Two sites of same niche with same ownership are possible but there should be different content.

I agree with Abner Hawkins, I would suggest that if the content is same then you should delete one website or redirect the URL to other website. If the content is different then no need to worry at all.

It's practicable. Just don't let Google find out that you are the owner of both sites or your sites could all get penalised at once. Here's how you can accomplish this:

    - Register your domains with different registrars (optional)
    - Activate WHOIS privacy for both domains.
    - Host both domains on different web hosts.
    - Don't add both domains to the same WMT or Analytics accounts.
    - Publish different content on both domains.

That doesn't matter for ranking pages.

So long as you have unique articles on each domain, Google won't really care how many same niche sites you have. And, maybe this is true as there are many sub-niches in each category.

Two websites on the same niche and the same owner with different content and even back links is fine, but duplicated websites will get your websites banned.

That's just so untrue, I can't believe you read that after you wrote it. No way can you read that with
      a straight face.

Avon, for example, gives everyone basically the same website....and they are not all
      deindexed.

What Google cares about is user experience, because good user experience = Google market share.

Just make sure that the content is useful on each site and you should be fine. As others have said, the content on site A should be unique to site A, and the content on site B should be unique to site B.
