WordPress Theme for SEO

Hey everyone!
I'm fairly new to the warrior forum but not new to internet marketing.
I'm going to make a new website soon to promote products and I was wondering if there are any wordpress themes you guys would recommend that are more SEO friendly.

Now I'm not even sure how much a wordpress theme contributes to SEO, but I am just curious. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • word press all premium theme is seo friendly so you any theme
  • Hi

Premium themes are SEO optimized, what matters is the type of content and how well you promote the same. As you said you are an internet marketer yourself. Its the skill of the individual that counts, not the tool.

      Both wrong.

Most premium themes like what's sold on Themeforest are horrible for SEO. Themeforest has a large market share.

The majority of premium themes are made to look pretty because pretty sells themes, SEO is usually an after thought which by then it's too late. Time to find an optimized theme & start over...

  • Genesis is about the best thing out there right now. Use the Dynamik builder with it and you can get any look you want.

Use the Yoast SEO plugin with that combo and you should be good to go.

    • One of the mistakes most premium themes make is to have h3 tags for sidebar titles. That's always the first thing I remove.
  • what i am using is newspaper theme and it pretty much good for seo

    • Not that Yukon needs my support but I second what he said, because he's right. Most premium themes suck for SEO and are dog dead slow as well. Even after installing a caching plugin.

The only one I found on Themeforest worth a damn on both issues was this one called U-Design: WordPress - uDesign - Responsive WordPress Theme | ThemeForest no aff

Also, Andon was very responsive to any issues or questions I had.

I was able to get pretty high scores on GTMetrix ( for speed ) but it also required some manual intervention.

Now I haven't tested that theme in a while and I see that there's been a few updates so your mileage may vary.

      Just my 2 cents.

      Cheers,

  • Use Genesis Themes for your Website Most of the bloggers and internet marketers are using these themes.
  • If you want an SEO friendly WordPress theme, you should probably choose a theme that’s built in the Genesis Framework.

Genesis gives your WordPress site a solid SEO foundation by using clean, optimized code. This means better page load times, responsive design, and even better security.
  • I personally don't bother too much about themes and never like flashy themes - they are difficult to customize. Choose something basic and customize it to your needs.

Also if you see any particular theme on some site that you like you can find out what theme the site uses by checking with the site whatwpthemeisthat.com (I'm not affiliated with them) and can use the theme for your own site. However this will work only for wordpress themes.
  • I'd avoid those graphics heavy themeforest themes. They are SEO optimised but load time could be the issue with all those javascript codes used to make them look fancy. I'd say pickup the twentytwelve theme from wordpress and tweak it to suit your site's requirement.
  • I will strongly recommend you Genesis or Thesis. I am using genesis and If you want to use genesis you can use any child theme. The best way to use genesis is to use its Framework and modify it by yourself to make a layout. It requires a little bit of technical knowledge so if you cant then use any ready made child theme.

  • Never really understood frameworks. If you're programming skills are ok, you can't get much more control than building your own theme, or modifying an existing one to control what shows.
