Auto track keywords gain and loss?

Hi,

I found some keyword tracking tools but they want me to add the keywords. I'm looking for something more automated that automatically finds the keywords I rank for and tells me when they gain and loss.

The reason for this is for onsite and offsite optimization testing, to see what is working better and what isn't. As recently I added some sitewide links and got new results for some of the older content but what I was ranking for seems to have dropped off.

Not 100% sure if I understand what you're asking but I'll try to help.

There are a couple tools I'm aware of that can track your rankings for KEYWORDS YOU SPECIFY.

I'm not aware of any tools that automatically search the web for an infinite number of keywords to see what you might be ranking for. You will have to enter manually enter a list or file of keywords for the software to check and track.

Anyway, the 2 tools I'm aware of are,
1 - SEO Powersuite tools from Link-Assistant. They have something that does this. I used the trial years ago but never bought the full version because it's too pricey for my taste. This company makes high quality stuff though with all kinds of bells and whistles, but this software is built for marketers on a more commercial level, usually ones who maintain lots of client sites/projects and need all the extra features to manage them all.

2 - Market Samurai has a rank tracker feature, as well as many other things. But again it doesn't just automatically search the web for keywords you might be ranking for... You input whatever list of keywords you want the software to track and whenever you want to check on them you can just open up the software and click a button.

To be honest though I think the rank tracking feature might have migrated to it's own software under the Noble Samurai brand (the people who make market samurai) but I'm not entirely sure since I bought my MS years ago, and things have changed since then in regards to the rank tracker I'm just not entirely sure what.

That would be a very expensive keyword tool because they would have to have the exact same data that Google has, the tool would have to index the entire Google SERPs.

Not only would the keyword tool be expensive it would have to read the minds of traffic & predict future keyword searches considering most longtail keywords are unique. It's not uncommon to rank for 100s/1,000s of longtail keywords that will never show up on the Google Keyword Planner.
