I just come across a blog where you could retweet the blog post to make your comment dofollow. This was through the commentluv plugin.

The whole concept of commentluv is to incentivize people to comment in exchange for a link and the premium features now add 'tweet for a dofollow link' and stuff like that.

I don't think the future looks too good for commentluv and similar services.

Do you think Google will penalize sites using services like this in a future update?

I have never come across a single worthwhile site using CommentLuv. It is a stupid idea to install it on your site. You are just inviting spam. Boatloads of it.

As for Google penalizing it, I do not think they will specifically because retweets do not impact SEO, so they could really care less.
