Maintenance mode issue

Hi there guys,

I just started to build a new webpage and after I placed the demo content on it I put it in maintenance mode.

This all sounds fine till now right? But, just before I placed it in maintenance mode Google crawled the webpage and it is now searchable on google.

The problem is that when you search "name of the page" it shows all the demo content.

Will this affect the further SEO of the page and if it will, how to fix that?

Thanks a lot guys, I'm pretty new to the forum, I hope will have much to talk about.

Sincerely,
JoVe

  • mate this is irrelevant..

maintenance mode for 1 spam visitor a day ?

not worth it mate get to work and start adding content
  • Just block that page in robots.txt from future crawling. So you won't have any problem for further SEO
  • Yeah, until your site is ready you should ignore what pages are indexed, what are not. For a new website, it really makes no difference for you to trouble with that extra stuff, and anyway, after the site is ready and google re-crawls your website he will know which pages to index, which pages got removed, which content is no longer there, etc...
  • it is unimportant, nobody will be searching for your site yet, and not even find it on accident, and even if they do, this matters not, just get to work and focus on what needs to be done, this has 0 effect on your future rankings
  • Agreed, not a huge deal this early in the game. If you had a solid site that had content for years, then scrapped everything to put demo content, that would be a whole other issue.
  • It doesn't matter, so don't worry about it.
