Find old links/redirects

Any chance of finding old links or redirects to website?

One of my clients allowed their old domain to drop (they've forgotten exactly what the domain was), and wants it back in the unlikely event that someone hasn't registered it already.

  • I've tried all the backlink checkers, and the redirected old domain has fallen off all of them.
  • Use Majestic SEO and select the historic index.

  • I'd use Majestic's historic index.

And if you've got access to the old logs in the hosting control panel then check the referer pages in those as well.
  • I would probably see if there is a way to dig through past transactions in their registrar account. I'm not sure how far back someone like GoDaddy will go for you, but that might be the best way to find it at this point.
  • Screaming Frog SEO Spider Tool and Xenu Tool pulls the list of redirections on the website. You can use these for your requirement.
