Putting Deindexed Content on Fresh Sites? Dangerous?

If you have sites that are deindexed, is it ok to grab the content and put it on a new site?

I have heard it is (once).. and I have done it before...

And I want to do it again but I am afraid.

Thoughts?

If the site has been reindexed, there should be no problems in putting that content on a fresh site. If the content is from a site you don't own, there could be some copyright issues, but nothing to worry about in terms of Google penalizing your site.

I am not sure you understand.

Site A has content on it. Site A gets deindexed.
2 months later I take site A's content and put it on fresh Site B.

      Is this ok?

Why was the site deindexed though? Maybe the content on the site incurred a penalty, in which case the answer to your question would be a resounding "no." However, even if there was nothing wrong with the content, I wouldn't simply throw it up on your new domain. I would put a 301 redirect in place from the old pages to the new ones, by using a .htpaccess file on the original site. This will tell Google that you're not stealing the content, which would obviously get you a penalty, and that you are in fact the owner of this content. That's what I'd do anyway...

Wait what? Did you read the original post?

The original site is "his", so they content would no doubt be his too.

      301 the "de-indexed" site?

301ing a penalized site would just 301 the penalty along with it.

Tell Google your not stealing content?

Last time I checked Google was a search engine not a DMCA lawyer.

      @Oilman

I'm 99.9% sure it wasn't your content that got hit with a penalty. All those PB links right?..

Drop the old domain completely. Kill it.

      Rebuild your new site.

Restructure it up a bit, urls, coding etc.

      Then relaunch it.

      You should be absolutely fine.

Just don't go messing with those dodgy links no more....

I would not risk moving the content since the site has been deindexed, build a new website and keep everything on it new.
