Someone wrote this article I came across on Twitter -
Penguin 3.0 Will Bring Tears to Your Eyes - SEW

It's not my article and I don't work for any seo companies fyi. It seems like Penguin can come at anytime now. Some people have been saying it might be here already but I don't think that's the case or at least not fully rolled out anyway.

Let's hope for some recoveries this time around.

    I don't think anyone thats been penalized due to updates have been penalized unfairly, for this reason I think it's really unlikely you'll see recoveries. Likely more penalties.

        Nothing will happen to those brands because no matter what they do, Google will show their sites high up in the results. The websites owned by big brands are the kind of websites searches expect to see in their results and it would dampen the credibility of Google's search results if they don't.

    Well a lot of small businesses have been hit be penguin apparently. Plenty of websites likely used old seo services that recommended linking techniques that include web directories and article sites so in that case I think a lot of quality sites have lost their rankings because of that.

    Since then plenty of sites have likely made big disavow files and deleted links off the internet. From that point of view if the websites up to par a penalty should at least be possible to fix accoridng to Google's guidelines.

    If you know how to do SEO, it don't matter. If yyou are keyword spamming like was popular a while ago, then you are going to pay the price. sorry if you are affected, but such is the case. You need an SEO who knows what they are doing.

    There is definitively a sort of an update going on now, too many independent seo data tracking tools and experienced webmaster report it. However, making a penguin update be such an important event like this article makes it to be is not too healthy. If you rely that much on a penguin update to bring tears to your eyes, i would suggest it's better to diversify your business rather than do any of the recommendations pushed in the article - like link audits, disavow links,etc.

      Same like Neil Patel, advises to remove any type of paid / blog network link and guest post in one of his posts from May or June. Once people start doing that they will drop for sure as there's nothing solid left to rank based on. Funny how they always ignore that aspect.

      Makes me wonder what's worse, losing ranks due to a Penguin penalty or due to link loss

    It has been a long time since last penguin update was released. There are many facts behind this also that may be there is chances of improving or changing pattern of penguin update and may be there should be a big game plan of Google about this penguin update. No one knows that when it will be release but its seeming that its gonna to hit badly this time for spamming and low quality links.

    If you create quality of backlinks on your sites then penquin update will not affect your site.
