Is Article Marketing No Longer Effective For SEO Purposes?

Hi Warriors,

Given the "downplay" of article marketing, specifically backlinks from articles on article directories, do you think it is still worth it to syndicate articles to article directories?

Is the problem resulting from duplicate content and if so, would completely distinct articles to different article directories still confer the same link juice it used to? Will spinning articles suffice for this purpose, or completely different articles is a must for distribution to various article directories?

    Article Marketing is still effective, but not such as guest posting.

    And it is not about article directories or not. An article on ezinearticles is an orphan page, hence doesn't have much power.

    You have to submit different content to each one. Duplicate content is not good for ranking.

      Yes Article Marketing is still Viable, article marketing is used by many an SEO expert and online marketing organizations to create keyword rich and good quality content off-site, so that this could link back to the main site using targeted keywords thereby allowing them to rank higher for those words.

    If content curation is alive then article marketing is also effective. But, there are sites like Ezinearticles which earlier have good reputation but now link from that site will only make you to the bottom. Try posting article to sites which have authority.

    I do agree that article submission is still effective and many webmaster use it to boost there not only traffic but ranking too. Honestly, I am not doing article submission. I was done this but after seen the webmaster video by Matt Cutt I stop this method for SEO.
