Hello Warriors!

Recently I received a report from an expert in SEO where it said I needed 1200 domains link to get my website to occupy the first page of google, since then I've been wondering what the cheapest way to get backlinks. Any idea?

you can get 1200 backlinks a variety of ways..but it might not be so smart to send that many to your site all at once.

For that many you'll probably go the paid method, so some sites to buy em are right here on WarriorForum and then places like elance and seoclerks.

You can't occupy the first page of google in overnight. Follow only white hat SEO. To get good ranking you need to target only quality backlinks.

Listen, this may sound harsh, but it's for your own benefit. It's best you get over this learning curve period as quickly as possible.

98% of everything you read about SEO is rubbish. Google does not publicly release their algorithm. As such, everything we do is based on our own data, our own statistics and what WE think is working. I launch 3-4 new sites a month just to test different concepts. To play with the algorithms and see where I can push an algorithm to its maximum before a penalty comes into play.

Anybody who claims you need a SPECIFIC amount of something to rank is talking rubbish. One of my Amazon affiliate sites ranks with around 11-links in a 2,000 kw/mo search. That's a lot less than 1,200, right?

Backlinks boil down to quality and authority. One link from the BBC.co.uk would most likely be worth more than 1,200 comment backlinks, at least in the long-term.

If you are new to SEO, I would suggest not focusing on it so much. The problem is, there is so much incorrect information out there that you're destined to go down the wrong path and spend years fixing your errors.

And so, from your point, if you are NEW to SEO, here's what I would do as a game plan for yourself:

        1) Build yourself a website.
        2) Learn about the different on-site SEO factors and get your above website optimised for it.
        3) Learn about advanced on-page SEO, such as rel=canonical, rel=me, navigational structures, pagerank sculpting etcetc.
        4) Improve your content and focus on creating better resources than all of your competitors.

At that point, you can start to experiment with link building. But again, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, stick by the following rule:

"Quality is far more superior than Quantity."

If you have the opportunity to buy 1,500 backlinks, sit back and question yourself. How authorative are these backlinks going to be for $10?

In reality, I can charge up to $100 for ONE link on my private network - so that puts that question into perspective.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

Great advice.. Now on your example. You said you have 11 links. If I was to make a new site and only use High PR back links from a PBN or the such and only use a few will that get noticed as not having a diversified back link profile? I mean I would rather get a few High back links instead of trying to get all these 100.s of ok back links but not sure if only having High PR links will show no diversity and cause a red flag.

          Thanks

My own personal opinion, Try too mimic "natural" ranking too your best ability. Does it seem very plausible that a website received a bunch of links in one day?
Google has been working diligently too identify false rankings (This is why you will hear that SEO is constantly on the change.)

Another thing too ponder upon, it also doesn't look very "natural" having only high PR links Having a mix of everything in my opinion, it's a very good approach.
Dofollow links and NOfollow links are also another good factor in website ranking.

I did a quick google search and found some content that may help explain a little more about DOFollow and NOfollow links.
            Google Link

Try searching for your own content as well. Remember, Google is a very powerful place. With time and patience you can obtain almost any knowledge you want.

I understand about having diversity. But when you say does it look natural? To me if I know Google wants good back links why would it not be natural for me to get say 50 high PR back links?
I mean if I am trying to give Google a good back link profile then maybe I would say ..Hey let me get some good high Pr back links and not do any of the other junk back links. Maybe withing a 6 month period.
But then Google will say you aren't doing this right. you need some different link techniques. Well what if I don't want to do blog posts or forum posts? Does that make my link profile bad?

              Just saying...

I know what you mean though Google likes to see us kiss their a** and do a little of this and a little of that. but in reality it does not make sense to me. If I want to rank and high PR links make you rank then why not concentrate on high pr links?

The Google Algorithm does not penalize for "link velocity" (how quickly you acquire links in a set period of time). That would be ridiculous. Imagine a new artist went viral and received links from everywhere. Why would Google penalize something that is generating massive awareness?

I only use my PBN to rank my websites, with the occasional guest post on relevant websites. So if I have a food processor website, I will try to snap up a few guest posts on recipe sites, or kitchen-orientated sites (and even pay for those guest posts if necessary).

The reason I don't chase low-quality links like social bookmarks and blog comments is because that is what Penguin specifically goes after I imagine. Google know the footprints of Wordpress, Joomla and all the other CMS's by now - it isn't hard to detect when a page has 10,000 blog comments all with outbound links.

I do, however, believe that there is a "blanket" in play at the minute. From my own data, the blanket suppresses new websites from ranking for a period of undefined time. Sometimes, my sites don't rank for 1-month, other times 3-months. Then, out of nowhere, they appear in the top 10 and remain steady. I believe this is to prevent churn&burn sites - but again, that reiterates my point, quality over quantity.

The whole 1,200 domain thing is a silly idea.

Your counting & counting is usually a crappy way of doing SEO. For all we know your blasting profile links/pages that will never rank a page.

      Exactly this.

SEO is not a science. It's not a case of doing x and always achieving y.

Don't worry about exact amounts. Just keep trying to build as many high quality links as you can, see how your rankings react and then adjust accordingly.

If you really want to buy lots of crappy backlinks that will only be there for a month, check out fiver. pay 5 bucks and get 20000000000000 as they promise. I did some testing with that on a few basic websites, they sent me the reports, and in 2 months, i had 2 backlinks left from the 500 they started with.

Your report was created by someone who sells backlinks, yes? At best, creating backlinks is what they are an expert at, but not SEO.

Note I said "at best" for a reason.

I would question the logic or need for 1200 backlinks, especially when you start asking where you can get cheap backlinks from. You will rank better with 10 high quality, relevant backlinks that 1200 cheaply obtained trash backlinks.

The quantity of backlinks are not important, if anything, it will just prompt Google to search more thoroughly from where you got these links and are they worthy or not. Trust me, having one good links are better than having many bad links. My site itself only has a few backlinks but it always ranks in the top 10 for my chosen keywords. This is because of the quality link and doing SEO regularly.

Quality of backlinks is far more important compared to the total number of backlinks.

1,200 social bookmarks may be worth the same value as 10 high quality links.

It sounds like the "expert" has provided you with an automated report.
