Ahref showing less links now?

I got NEGATIVE SEOd badly a month ago with 11k links infront og my 1500 natural links

Now Ahref showing drop in links like 2900 only and GWT updated and it is now 2200 onnly.

I am confused whether are those links broken now or AHREF showing wrong?

    Are you sure it was negative SEO?

    A lot of times when people do blog comment spamming for links, their comment gets into one of those 'recent comments' widgets, so the link shows on every page. If the crawlers happen to visit at that time and see it, the link count spikes on those sites. The next time they visit and your link is not in the recent comments widget, your link count goes back down.

      200% sure. Those NEGATIVE SEO consisted of comments with adult niche anchor text 98%.

      So you are saying, that those links are gone? Then I should be relived because I have not much of faith in DISAVOW that I did.

    Those links are NOT gone. They are still on the pages where the comments are, but I don't think somebody could harm your website with such blog comments only!
