There is no effect of Paid Traffic in SEO. You pay Google to make you to the top in searches and once you are out of your money your traffic is also gone. So make sure to use it wisely and focus on Organic SEO for better and longer results.

Indirectly since more traffic results in more social signals which attracts attention of other sites that may link to you.

Also, and I merely speculate here, google notices traffic patterns and on site duration which if patterns indicate a positive site experience could have a positive impact on rankings. Sorry, I have no empirical data.

Google denied it so many times. I also believe the same. But one thing is, those who are spending with adwords, especially big brands, escape the penalties easily. On the vice-verse, if a brand earning too much through organic search and not spending anything on ads are in trouble. Recent example is eBay perhaps. I do believe such and many other people like Brett Tabke of webmasterworld.

I don't think so paid traffic have no any bad effect. so don't worry about it.
