Are There Other Ways To Monetize A Website Other Than Only Adsense?

I want to start creating content sites with Adsense ads on them. I was wondering is it ok to have different ways to monetize a content website, other than to just have Adsense ads show up? I was thinking something like...contextual ads, such as Kontera ads, Chitika, Amazon ads, eBay, ClickBank, PayDotcom, etc. etc.

Has anyone here on the Forum created Adsense sites that also had multiple ways to monetize them using such contextual ads or affiliate links?

How many ways to monetize is too many? If I added all of these monetization means to my website, will Google have a problem with this? Will I get my account shut down? Is it better to just stick with a few or should I only concentrate on the Adsense ads?

I thought that if I am going to be monetizing my website, why only stop at having Adsense ads, when I can benefit from multiple other methods!

Am I wrong in thinking this way? I am new to this and I don't actually understand Google Adsense and what is acceptable to them?

    There is no problem putting other ads as long as they do not look like adsense..

          Yes, you can. I was using adsense together with Kontera ads, Chitika, & ClickBank at the same time in one website and it is fine. Just need to ensure there are in different format

            Thank you for your comment and insuring me that I'll be fine by having all of these different methods to monetize my website! I will have to look at the different format aspect of it.

                I typically use more than one monetization model on my sites because I like to give my visitors options...If they don't want to click on my links then they might see an Adsense ad that interest them. I suggest trying a number of different methods to see which ones work best for you.
                I know that some people swear by CPA (cost per action) offers but I haven't really had a lot of success with them.

                If you're running one type of ad, don't run the other.

                My preference is to get the affiliate links going for stuff that I can market that way. I don't even bother with Adsense.
