Hi there, congratulations on building your first website. The first thing you'll want to do is read up on backlinks. These are just links from other websites that point to your website.

The number (and quality) of these backlinks that point to your URL will play a huge part in determining how high your website ranks on the major search engines. Most engines don't even pay attention to things like meta tags anymore.

You'll find quite a few posts here about SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) which go in depth about how to give your site the most readability to a search engine bot. So for now I definitely recommend reading up on SEO and backlinks.

Building backlinks isn't as easy as just posting your link on random web pages though. Some pages are set up as "nofollow", which means that search engines will ignore any links posted on it. Some pages can actually damage your site's reputation if your link is on it, especially pages known as "link farms" in which your link is one of thousands of links pointing to other sites.

don't let this discourage you, there are plenty of SEO experts here who will be able to help you out. Some might even offer their services and post links for you to high quality pages. Just FYI, a page's quality can make all the difference. Any link coming from a .edu domain gets a much higher weighting than a regular link for example.

A lot of local citations
Steady Blog Content
Internal Linking
Getting Links from local sources

After reaching 2k visitors I outsourced the SEO for $2k per month and in 5 months the rankings have not moved and the traffic is static. Why did I add this? Save your money and do some of the exercises on your own. I have found hiring out my PPC and SEO to be a bottomless pit that I pour money in to and nothing ever comes out. My very best results have come by doing this type of marketing on my own.

It depends on what your site is all about and how far you are ready to take it.

Blogging and social media are very essential methods of getting quality traffic.
Ensure you article is good and relevant as well as participate actively in the social media.
I also don't leave YouTube, by making and uploading a good number of videos you can start
receiving a steady flow of targeted traffic.

And if you want to rank for your keywords on Google/SERP, you need to build top notch backlinks some or most of which take time.

I would say 3-4 months to get a steady amount of traffic from keywords. Be sure to keep adding content every few days & keep working on getting quality backlinks. I would also say to comment on posts in this forum (even though they are nofollow) & do your best to learn from people that have made money online. There are also companies that can help you build your SEO & you can always use them once you start making sales. I've found that most of the people that make any money with Google are the ones at the top of the search listings though.

It's time to learn how to build links to your website. Don't foget to publish new articles on a weekly bsis, too.

Use Google Alert Marketing or FB notes and you´ll get nearly instant traffic to almost every niche.

Both are free I use them as my main traffic resources.

There is no perfect answer of your question about timings....You need to do all the right things on a continuous basis and keep a watch on the results you are getting. From there, you need to do testing and tweaking for month's to get the right combination for your own site.

What are the right things:
1) Regular addition of fresh and unique content
2) All posts and Pages are keyword optimized
3) You need to do proper internal backlinking of keywords and posts
4) You need to have external backlinks to your website for your main keywords from relevant niche sites only.

You have to do some link building techniques of SEO and also some SMO techniques.

Well its good that you did a little bit of on-page seo with your meta title and meta descriptions. However, you won't be getting any traffic to your website until you are on the front page of Google. The only way you are going to be able to get to the front page of Google is through high quality and relevant backlinks to your website.

In addition to backlinks, you will want to have relevant content on your pages. Your meta data should reflect that content.

Typically if you get some good backlinks and have your on-site optimization dialed in correctly, it takes about a month to start to see rankings. Of course if you have a very competitive niche, then it can take much longer.

To get traffic from your SEO work, you can wait even months... Especially if the niche is competitive and the keyword is big, you should work more and more....

I still think you need to do a proper keyword research first. Without a thorough keyword research you can find yourself with an humongous amount of time wasted in on-page or off-page SEO.

1st of all I would use adwords keyword planner. It will help you a lot to get the first ideas.

There are many keywords that you will never get ranked for, payday loans, weight loss and etc.

You should always check to see what type of pages are on page one for your keywords

If they all have high ranks (7, 8 9) move on to another keyword.

it depends on how hard your client wants to work, meaning how much real and relevant content can be created and how much competition there is for their key word phrases. Also, how big is their niche? If no one would ever search for their desired niche, they may never be found. And if they don’t have time or desire to work hard, it depends on how much money they have to invest in their website.

It depends on so many factors. The main fact is Keyword Competition. If you do SEO properly and publish awesome SEO Optimized post on a regular basis then you will get traffic from search engines within a short period of time.
For one of my blog, I just publish 3/4 SEO optimized contents in a week and after 2 months I got huge visitor.
I was just share my content link on social profiles and create a few backlinks from some similar blog and website.

It really depend on the competitiveness of your niche. On average, it'll take about 3-4 months to see results. Stay adding content and building links and you'll be fine.

There is a simple answer, between 1-30 organic visitors per $1 of spend - so if you are on the cheapest of cheapest hosting with no seo work then Google won't care. Usually when I start a new blog the traffic appears after 2-3 weeks of posting unique ,valuable content, of course it`s not a crowd of people but 5-10 uniques a day. But content is not everything you should do to increase that amount, the backlinks plays cruicial role in this.

It depends on the niche and competition. What you did not is not enough in any case, you should apply all of the SEO and SEM techniques and be patient.

*your quality of content
*your quantity of content
*your actual website/blog structure
*the keywords you targeted for each article
*how well you optimized said pages for your keywords
*your backlinks

I'm not saying this to discourage you but rather encourage you. Even when you do everything right it OFTEN takes time if you are doing everything completely organic and waiting on nature to take course.

This is why I ALWAYS recommend blogging or writing about something that you love because building a profitable website takes a lot of hard work and faith before you start raking in the cash.
