Copied Content

Guys I had a micro niche website a few years back with very good content but i never got time to work on it. The domain was dropped and now i registered a new domain and was going through my earlier content and found that content has been copied by a few autoblogs & posted on 1-2 forums by bots.

Is there any way out of this other than rewriting the articles. As there are 20-25 articles *not all are copied by the bots*.

  • I think you should write fresh unique content for your blog now.
  • As you have registered new domain, then start writing new quality content just forget about the old site, because as you said you have only 20-25 articles which are very less. Now its all about Quality content, start writing quality content from now and you will see good results, Don't use the content which you had used in your old site
  • is the old domain that you let drop still indexed or was it too long ago?

if its still indexed you could spend $10 to buy the old domain again (if available), and 301 it to your new domain and put the content on your new domain.

That's a lot of "if's" but I don't know what else to tell you. Or you could try posting the old content on the new site with a good amount of additional text on the new pages.
  • As you said you have registered for new domain, I suggest you to write some high quality unique articles. It would be much better than re-writing old articles. Yo may hire a warrior to write those articles on behalf of you.

As if fiverr has many scammars but there have real service. If you try you my be defined the real service provider who give real traffic for any website.
  • In my opinion... new content will always serve you better. I know it is a hassle, but it's best to start out fresh then try and redeem yourself later with the SERPS.
  • I think it's up to you really. You could rewrite them for your new site if you want to.

But I can tell you that this has happened to me in the past, where I've put content of mine from an old domain that I own onto a new one. Other sites have copied that content, so there are other copies of it out there before I move the content to a new domain.

I haven't had any problems with ranking the content again.
  • If I were you, I would start writing new content only. DO NOT COPY! Write FRESH and UNIQUE content...

    • Of course that comes from a guy who has a site in his sig that has boat loads of copied content.
      Just sayin...

Let's see, you were too lazy to work on that content years ago, and you want to now just copy it?
      You're still lazy.

Getting over your laziness should be your number one priority.

  • Start your new blog with quality fresh content.
  • Use the unoccupied content and build new original content and you should be fine.

    • Creating, Editing, and Promoting Unique high-quality content is difficult and time consuming. But in the end Golden rule of SEO is that Content is the King. Its not just because of a Search Engine but its for your site visitors. A page that is read by people is better than a page that is read by bots.

So write your content after going a serious thought.

      Best,

  • Obviously, writing fresh quality content is important. You already know that.

But, all is not lost. I would recommend taking your old content and doing two things:

    1) Use the content as a foundation, then update it, make it more relevant, make it more in-depth...take it to a whole new level.

    2) Repurpose the content - turn it into a slideshare presentation, free email course, ebook, YouTube video.
Find ways to use the older content to achieve other goals such as growing your email list and generating additional referral streams.

  • I think the only option you have is to file a DMCA or get new content.
  • Add more to the original content and spin the synonyms and some sentences where possible in the old content. There are spinners online that will tell you how much your content has changed from the original so try to get it over 70%.

If your website domain and hosting are expired and the data are deleted from web, you may try to copy the previous content. So you can be done it and try to build high page rank backlinks with high domain authority and collect traffic for your new website.
  • Google does not like copied content. I think you write unique content for your website now.
  • I am going to tell you the same as like other previous poster. You have to try new and fresh content because new and fresh content serve you better..
  • if you use your previous content again then Google might think that you are the one who copied! so better use fresh original content. Remember the more updated the content the better it is for the serps.

  • You first sign in to your Google acciount and then go to the Google adwords page, where you will find the 'Tools' tab. In that you can go with the 'Keyword Planner where you can search for good keywords.
  • In my opinion... new content will always serve you better.
