Started my first blog, and I don't think I've gotten any visitors yet.

What are some SEO tips to help you build traffic to a site?

What are other free methods to get traffic to your site?

One of your best ways is going to be to put an excerpt with a photo on your fan page for your blog for every post you do.

To get the party started you can go follow the people who follow the gurus in your niche. You can follow the gurus too, just don't expect them to follow you back. But, the people who follow them will.

Then do some facebook ads promoting your page to get some likes. Now with say 10,000 likes when you do 4 blog posts per day with snippets on your fan page you'll get activity on your blog.

The snippets link to your blog obviously.

      Thanks, Patrick

Forget SEO if you want to succeed online.

Focus all your attention to learn PAID marketing and then track to see which marketing places work the best for you.

    1. Write one stunning awesome remarkable kickass crazy valuable article.
    2. Promote that one article on social media, videos, paid traffic, Facebook comments, forums, offline marketing, email marketing.
    3. Wait for people to share the article so it goes viral

How will that help? I'm an article marketer, myself, but it's pretty clear that publishing content just on your own site isn't a traffic-attraction plan worth talking about at all: the only traffic that can ever bring you is some gradual, eventual, search-engine traffic, isn't it? Good luck trying to monetize that ...

Yes it's true search-engine (Google) free traffic, it's not so hard to monetize it all if you use WordPress I mean as a new website/blog your website needs content after that you can promote it. It's important to have first good content and with 60 articles a month believe me you will get high organic traffic from Google if you keep publishing good articles.

60 articles is a lot of content. Many niche sites take more than a year to reach to that number. The only way to create 60 articles in a month is to compromise on quality, but that's just me.

The best way to promote your blog is networking on social media and growing a community around your blog.

Don't obsess about SEO. Just make sure you have valuable quality content on your blog that is well optimized for the keywords you're targeting. If you're with wordpress there are many seo plugins for this.

Reach out to other bloggers in your niche and start meaningful interactions via blog commenting, social shares, social mentions, networking in blog communities, etc.

Just remember, when starting out, you want to be useful to these people by making it about them. Show you can be valuable to them but don't expect too much from them initially.

After some time they'll take note of you and start following you back, sharing your content with their followers, commenting on your posts, and linking back to your content.

There is also another new tool called Broaded.net that I've been using to get traffic without social media and SEO. You can check it out too.

With WordPress you can easily monetize through SEO plugins, It will ensure that you create SEO friendly articles and pages.

A year to create 60 articles? I mean if you create every day one article you have already 90 in 3 months.. I think it's the schedule that you make and follow to create and publish articles.

And its up to you to compromise on quality ore not, One of my websites I just have 50 low quality articles and I get already every day free traffic from it.

One of the best ways to promote your blog is by guest blogging. This is how Danny Iny of Firepole Marketing grew his blog readership. (His blog has a page rank of 4/10.) Here's what he has to say about guest blogging:

A guest post, when done in the relationship-building way, (is) a great way to:
    • Connect with, and offer value to, other bloggers in your industry.
    • Gain exposure, and capture the interest of a new audience.
    • Provide a trail back to your own space on the web for people who connect with what you had to say.
Note that he said "in a relationship-building way." Guest blogging should be done with the intention of getting a targeted audience for your blog and building relationships with the readers of other blogs. Your main purpose for guest blogging should not be to get a ton of back links for your site, although getting high quality backlinks is indeed a side benefit to guest blogging.

Note: Guest blogging has gotten a bad rap since Matt Cutts said "Guest blogging is done." But Matt Cutts has since clarified his statement on guest blogging. The type of "guest blogging" he was talking about was the spammy kind. "Real" guest blogging involves looking for authority blogs, pitching guest post ideas to blog owners, and responding to comments on your guest posts.

    For a blog,

First write around 20 to 25 posts and then start link building and social media. It will be helpful for your blog for sure.

One more thing, find your main category for your blog and connect with people who are related to your niche.

    Hi,

Promote other bloggers aggressively, comment on authority blogs, and surround yourself with pros from your niche, learning from them.

Promoting others encourages other bloggers to promote you.

Join tribes and meet with like minded bloggers. Help them out, and learn, and write, and as the quality of your work improves, and as you make friends by promoting others you'll increase your blog traffic.

There are plenty of ways to promote your blog and optimize it for the search engines. If you're using WordPress, install SEO by Yoast or the All in One SEO Pack. Write unique content regularly, share engaging information, and encourage readers to share your posts. Stay active on forums and social networks. Build quality links through guest blogging, press release distribution and other methods. If done correctly, these tips alone should help you get more traffic.

Add some posts to your fan page, and Join other FB groups related to your blog, and start posting FB comments (helpful comments) to the groups. You do not even have to mention your blog. One the best Advice I can give you is to get some free traffic is to search on twitter for some good tweet about your topic and get involved in some conversation.

Also write good quality contents on your blog and spread them on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.

Then search for the same topic on Google, and try to realize who need some help about it or is talking about and get involved in the conversation, let them know that maybe you have some good post answering their questions.

Be consistent and do this tasks consistently and you will get growing traffic every day.

    Hi,

If you're relying on SEO then you'll need to create TOP quality content
consistently that pulls in traffic that way.

I personally like to build email lists then direct my subscribers to my site.

My blog is a few years old now and I have been adding TOP notch content
    to it from day 1.

It's all about time, patience, consistency, top quality content and attracting

I firmly believe "content is king" and Google recognizes this.

Simply put, I think if you're supplying your blog with fresh, relative content on a consistent basis, that alone will lead to Google boosting your blogs ranking, as compared to old school seo tactics such as those found with services like Submit Edge.

I recently joined this blog sharing network, blog owners install a widget which displays other blog owners articles in niche you choose. I have gotten some visitors this way Blog promotion network

The other way is social media. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google + etc. The trick is share other people stuff and in return many will share yours.

Capture emails, and inform list every time a new post.

Constantly add new content, if you do it daily, some people will come daily. Be consistent, if your having writers block curate some content just make sure to credit everything not your own.

Encourage people to comment on your blog, when they do reply to them and keep convo going, this adds fresh content to each post and when people feel you acre they will share.

This is true for latest google change. I see many old sites surfacing out when I do keyword research.. A lot of sites with content as old as 3-4 years ago (or maybe longer) are ranking at the top for searches, which in the past didn't even exist at all.. I feel google are not really looking at fresh content as a factor in their ranking, but more on social signals, like FB shares, re-tweets, etc.. I also notice pages with no backlinks ranking at the top. Maybe some SEO experts can give more insights on this.. Me no SEO expert..

Content is king’ and this never goes out of fashion. But, to get expected benefits out of blog, you will have to focus on unique, fresh & relevant content development. The post heading plays major role in attracting readers’ interest. Few things that I will suggest to promote a blog are:

    - Post content on daily basis, it’s an easy & best way to attract readers’ attention.
    - Write catchy (attractive) heading, it generate reader's interest.
    - Use attractive and relevant images; they make your post more interesting.
    - Create your own image don't copy from Google.
    - Use social sites like Facebook, twitter, Google+ & Pinterest to promote your blog posts.
    - Add social sharing button at the end of the every post.

You can check our blog as an example; it follows all the above – said tips and has great user base and gets huge traffic regularly. https://bestwebsitedevelopersindia.wordpress.com/

    Maybe you can try this:
    1. Focus on your niche
    2. Don't try to copy paste other article

    1. Create good content / well-written log posts.
    2. Make a public announcement on your social media profiles that you've started blogging.
    3. Search for people who have previously tweeted/shared posts covering similar topics.

Firstly, create a fan page on Facebook based on your blog and associate it with your blog. Next, post some nice articles (ones that are really interesting) on your blog and share the link with a catchy headline. Visitors are bound to take a look at it if your article (especially the headline) is interesting. Slowly build up a follower base for your fan page and you would see the results coming in. It would be a time taking process but it is worth it.
