What's Webmaster Tools telling me?

Hi all, I've been having a play with Webmaster Tools this afternoon, and I'm a little bit lost...

Currently my site has 139 pages, of which 71 are apparently indexed. I've submitted the others (I'm doing a load of extra pages at the moment and submit a few daily) but although it's saying they've been submitted, they're not apparently being indexed.

So... am I being dumb here and reading the part where it says "Will take a couple of hours" incorrectly, or is it a sign that Google doesn't like the additional pages that I'm doing? As far as I can tell, Google has been checking my site about twice a week since it started, and I started doing these extra pages about a week ago... so I know I haven't played the patience game yet!

  • Make an xml sitemap.
Use the fetch as google, then when you fetch as google an option will pop asking you if it should just crawl this one page or all the pages this page connects too. pick that 2nd option. do a few more pages like this, and your whole site will be indexed in 5mins.

If that doesn't work. Make several social media posts. use google plus, post your link.

Indexing isn't difficult, its rather easy. they want to index your site, those greedy *******s.

If that doesn't work something is wrong, check the robot text file. screw patience when it comes to indexing.

Easiest way to index a bunch of internal pages ASAP. I also use Fetch as Google after doing any page updates.
  • Ah, I had wondered about that... I've uploaded a sitemap, but again it says that only 71 have been indexed from it :/

I've submitted the new pages seperately asking it to just index that one page, but I could try and do it from the page above! If you imagine, there's about 18 pages for airport transfers by place names (for example Weymouth Airport Transfers) and then that links to 9 pages for individual transfers (for example Weymouth to Gatwick). Google's had no problem indexing the Weymouth page, which is three under the home page, but it's the lowest pages that it doesn't seem to like which is a bit irritating because they're the ones that are fully SEO'd for individual place name keywords lol!

    • Just take those pages and 'fetch as google' individually. they get crawled instantly.
