SEO for Photo Blog/Website

Honestly, for a site like that, I think you are completely wasting your time doing SEO. Social media is the way to go with that type of site.

That being said... you might want to actually hire a comedian to come up with funny material for your fake text messages. I just read a couple, and they are horrible. I'm not trying to be mean, but the only thing i see that is funny is that someone would actually think any of these are funny.

Really? That is supposed to be funny?

Most sites like this never write descriptions of the pics, but you almost have to in order to explain the jokes because they are that bad.

Yeah like mike said you would be better off just focusing on pure social media.

I checked your website, and my tool tells that your site is receiving around 20 to 30 UV/day..... when I checked indexed pages, Google has indexed more than 2000 pages....... so it is really not much profitable for such a >2000 pages website..... I think it is completely waste of time..

I checked, you are using duplicate content too.....

So, it is not a profitable business from any angles.... if you create fresh website, with quality and unique content to get the benefit from SEO...

When it comes to images and videos social media is the best platform. Like others said stop wasting time on this site and start it fresh. Focus on social media.

Doing proper seo is not a great thing. First you should know your goals then accordingly you should use it.

Hey guys, Just thought I would share with you all that according to webmaster tools my websites clicks have increased more than double in only 18 days. It appears my strategy is not as bad as this post suggests. I think if I incorporate better social media campaigns my website could be on to something just the way it is.

Am I not right? Isn't a websites click % increasing by %100 in 18 days good? To me that seems good and that I am doing an okay job marketing my website to the search engines... What are your thoughts?

Most Wikipedia articles do not have videos now. Create a few with funny videos and you will get both traffic and link juice.

seo is not the only to get traffic. so if you don't have an edge with seo, focus on other measures.

Actually, you have a good deal of text on your page. And, if you are already getting search engine traffic, then just keep doing what you are. By the way, are you using alt tags? I'm sure you must be or at least someone else here must have suggested it as that's just a basic.

You can't go with SEO for such a website. Go with a fan page in Facebook or a popular Twitter channel. Then post your new article (photo!) in them and let the visitors come! Also don't forget that a few GOOD chosen hashtags can even double or even triple the number of visitors to your website!

write regular articles, may be trying adding more content for each image. The best way is to make sure atleast you have 250 words for every image that you share.

Ok, so i've been working mainly only with photo blogs so i can share my experience with you;
1. First of all, you MUST consider moving from blogger to wordpress install ( your traffic will increase dramatically), i will tell you why:
a. Hot link protection with plugin ByREV WP-PICShield , no more stealing traffic from google image search ( my favorite thing). you loose much more traffic to search engines that you can imagine.
b. seo friendly images plugin - auto alt on all images
c. seo search terms 2 plugin - grabs keywords that users came with from search engines and display them as plugins ( but i heard is bad for seo to display them, but you can easily use this plugin to auto-arrange posts once a day to bring to front those images that don't have traffic - pretty cool right? ).
d. Yoast seo plugin - seo at its best
e. Title to Tags plugin - Creates tags for posts based on the post title on update or publish.
I only write seo smart titles and publish and voila, auto keywords, auto alts - all seo smart

2. is a plugin (for wordpress) that i don't remember it's name that auto creates post as you upload images = instant gallery website, but i preferred the manual approach. Or a gallery cms, i think anything would do better than blogger. It doesn't have options for big things

3. Descriptions ?! not really . But no matter what of images your website is about, if it's photo blog should be high quality pictures, with beautiful watermarks, your own brand/logo, and than scaled it up, make it big. I remember to hit the jackpot when had like 1000 posts with 5-7 images in each. The more the better. People love images, trust me. In fact my first money from website traffic was from a blogspot with images (lots of them)
Also it's more important to have a beautiful layout, displaying only thumbnails , you know easy to navigate. Ok , you have descriptions whatever, but people want to see the pictures. That's just for seo, you know what i mean? you need something like this (and its a theme for blogger ) : MXfluity Blogger template - BTemplates

My point is this: if you go with photoblog , do photos. not articles, nothing else. Just photos. What is this , descriptions and articles. Use descriptive file names for photo like : pretty-girl-wallpaper-beach.jpg , use descriptive title and keywords and there you have it! Than just make a lot of them, and with images you really have to aim high !

But again i am saying, if you are staying with blogger you just waste traffic away from that google image search that doesn't need to display your blog to give images to the consumers. You waste like half the traffic at least when have a lot of images.
