If you have a budget it would be a good idea to start with paid traffic imo.

First place you need to start is on-page SEO , target keywords, title, descripton tags all in place, optimise images, quality content on the pages, build only quality backlinks, use some paid traffic sources to get yu going for traffic and bring some activity to the site

remember SEO is a long term thing and needs to be continous!

Bertieallsorts is right about on-page optimization.

You should start with on-page optimization because that's really what your foundation is. Get that wrong and it will be a rocky road to the top of the SERPs.

Off-page SEO isn't really as complicated as most people make it out to be. There are only really a couple of things that matter.

Whatever you do, DO NOT spend money on the Fiverr SEO gigs. A lot of beginners will go this route and not only is it useless but can actually hurt you by having links spammed out on crappy sites pointing right back to your page. It looks natural and you will not be doing yourself any favors, especially in the eyes of the grand wizard Google.

yes, I am also new in this field still I can think a good key word and links as many as possible you can make help your sites to be in the first page.

Well, first you need a site with good quality content. Then do on-page optimization. Optimize title tags, meta description, heading tags and content (Don't spam). Once, one-page optimization is done, start with off-page optimization. Build backlinks on quality and niche related sites that have good authority. Focus on the quality of links and not the quantity.

    Step 1: on site optimisation
Make sure that the title tags, header tags, meta tags all have your keyword.
Articles must be high quality, having 1-2 % of your keyword.
I use a Wordpress pluggin All-inOne SEO by yoast. It helps a lot.

Have a mixture of Internal links and outbound links.

    Step 2: Social sharing.
Everytime you publish an article, just share it on Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

Step 3: get backlinks from related forums and blogs by posting relevant and useful comments.

Step 4: Get backlinks from high authority sites.
Sites that I liked include Yahoo Answer, Youtube, Slideshare. you will need to upload some articles or videos with your link back to your blog.

    Step 5: Social bookmarking
This is not necessary but I use Social Adre and Social Monkee sometimes. .

    Caution:
Don't ever buy backlinks or SEO from Fiveer. You will get a bunch of spammy links that will get your website de-indexed very quickly.

    Hope this helps.

My advice is "Just Do It". So many people failed because they are just planning all the time and not taking action. Go for it NOW. Take all the advice above and implement on your site one by one and you will soon realize you are over optimized and get penality but that is all part of the game.

You need to register a domain, find the niche, install CMS, on page SEO, off page SEO, social marketing, ppc. There are so many things to learn and they are constantly chaining. You just need to learn it by doing it and adopt as you go.

If you are new to SEO then i would suggest educating yourself. Get a hold of some Free training videos about SEO basics, in the same way as if you were new to Wordpress you can easily get hold of Free Wordpress training videos.

If you head on over to the websites of the big boys in SEO, they normally have a lot of free training about the basics, which others would charge for, one name that springs to mind is Alex Becker.

    Hi

Go to SEO moz and read the beginners guide.

The main 2 categories are On page and Off page Optmization. Understand that first.

    On page:
First you have to add Meta tags in your webpages to make it optimized for search engine. (if you are focusing on Google. Then start reading about google analytics and webmaster tools) .if you want to optimise in Bing, read about bing webmaster tools too.

Then you have to do Off page activities to increase your traffic and visibility.
You don't need to worry. Within 3-months u will get the idea. Read maximum blogs like Moz,search engine land for updates. Always read about Google algorithm updates too.

Don't hesitate to ask. Be active in good forums and clarify your doubts.

    Wishing you all the best!

Depends on your budget, but start with some of the tuts provided by earlier posts. Get your on page right and load your site with quality content.

As far as back linking goes, if you have the budget for it, build a small PBN. If not, try some outreach and guest posting.

Well, all things about SEO start on creating content. Who will vivist your site if you don't have enough worth-reading content on your site plus, how will Google begin crawling you if you don't have sort of something shareable and so on.

    PLUS, along is...

    1. Research your keyword
    2. Socialize content via social multichannels
    3. Back links, ect.

Just check on THIS SITE for the complete details.
    Hope this help!

Social Media and Social Bookmarking is one of the major ways to start gearing up your domain authority. Start from there and work your way up from there. Remember to never purchase SEO packages that offer page 1 results because 99% of the time you will get penalized or even de-indexed.

it depends on the web site that you want to do seo on. If it is an html or php web site then you need to learn some coding especially meta tags.

If you have a joomla or wordpress web site then seo is very very easy. For wordpress you get a plugin called wordpress seo by yoast which basically tells you what to do.

It tells you to choose a keyword and then shows you what you should do on your web site to optimise for that keyword.

The starting point for seo I think is do do research on your competitors and check out what keywords the optimize for and where their site features.
