Hey guys,

I am trying to figure out the best way to get the most bank for my buck on a back link...

I am going to put together a "How to install something"

So say id I am a plumber and want to write an articles with about 15 pics step by step on how to install a faucet...

What would be my best effernt in creating a good back links. I know there are a few ways to do this, but I am going to be putting a bit of time in this and want to make it worth it...

Do I post to my site and see if I can get a link from somewhere?
Make a PDF and submit it? << Not sure about this one
Write it and see if I can get an authority to post it on a niche related site and link back?

What would me my best course of action?

Thanks
Teddy

  • Why do you want a backlink?

    • To help Rank

But I would like a good high PR niche related one
  • I think it is a good idea to write an article about how to install ?????
  • Why don't you write an article on your site about how to install, for example, plumber? After that you go to article submission sites like ezinearticles or goarticles and publish it there? They also let you put links to relevant pages on your website in the article so it can also be a backlink.

      What a horrible idea:
      • Nofollow links
      • The authority site/page will easily outrank your new page by default (established authority)
      • Traffic lost due to authority site promoting tons of competition on their site
      • Article directories are known spamfest

There's different things you could do but the first thing is make sure your posting that detailed content on your own domain.

If your a small business owner (ex: local plumber) then you could start a new domain that's only plumbing tutorials & use that new network domain for a relevant link back to your local plumbing site.

Out of the box the new domain will be weak but you can use the tutorial site for generating organic links while your also building relevant links. If you have useful niche tutorials it's not difficult to get decent links.

Aim to rank the new tutorial pages for same/similar keywords as your real money site (local plumber site). Don't try to overpower the local plumber site but try to trail the local plumber site with the tutorial site in the SERPs. Example, tutorial site/page ranked on 2nd page of local plumber keyword, while local plumber site/page is trying to rank #1.

If you browse the SERPs for just about any keyword, dig down through the SERPs & you'll usually see the domains/pages that have links pointing at the #1 ranked page for the same keyword. Google tends to trail backlink pages in the SERPs.

That's a long term strategy that will last for years.

    • Great idea.. So what if I get a high PR domain and do that? I know it would be tough to find for a Brand name..

    • Hi yukon,

Is that something similar to a private blog network? I've heard guys are ranking well using PBNs and it's something I'm giving a thought.
  • Why don't you set up a blog on How to do things, I think would be the way to go.
  • Getting an authority to post it on a niche related site would be something I'd consider. But I'm not sure about such links for ranking. I hear Google is not so kind on guest posting for SEO nowadays.

Basically the same thing, you own/control the links your building. For me the end goal is relevant links, which isn't usually the case for most people on this forum. The way I see it it's more difficult for Google to deny relevancy considering the SERPs are all based on relevancy. Irrelevant links are obvious footprints.

You don't have to advertise to the public the content is a guest post. As long as it's decent content it doesn't matter who created the content. It also doesn't have to be an article, in the example of the local plumber niche the backlink content could just as easily be an image gallery full of plumbing images created by a local plumber from previous jobs/clients.

      Example: plumbing stock image

The stock image niche is a huge market with a lot of authority sites that could be used for backlinks. Just one example of a relevant sub-niche to target for backlinks. There's always ways to generate content without writing articles.
  • write article on high pr article directory with a backlink to your site please check for copy content before posting your article avoid adding nf links i would suggest goarticles it approves you in minutes it will improve your SEO lot
