The only real difference is that having recent posts on your front page may slightly increase indexing, as the homepage is often the most crawled page on a site.

I would recommend keeping it as low as possible. The less ad units you have, the more each click is worth. Try finding out which blocks are being clicked the most and remove the rest.

I used twitter on one of my first really big sites, and it helped a lot. Not only traffic, but twitter really helped me get indexed extremely quick. Not to mention retweets bringing in viral traffic...

I wouldnt recommend it. However, other social sites are fine to use it with, and actually much better since both Facebook and Twitter have much larger amounts of people on them.

I made my first money with amazon affiliates. I remember making $200 a month and being so excited :D. Then I moved onto adsense and made a killing with it, now I just diversify as much as possible :)

I would recommend staying away from wordpress for ecommerce. A lot of it just isn't secure enough, and most plugins feel really wonky and not secure. I would install an ecommerce script like zen cart...
