What I personally like doing is just set up redirects in your hosting/domain manager.

That way it helps promote your brand, as well as offer an easy way of hiding the aff link.

I have both, and they are nearly identical honestly. Think I like the most about hostgator is having a reseller account which comes in handy if you have multiple sites that you eventually sell.
