You need to "wrap" the image to the left or right. Depending on what you're using to create the page... it should be in "image properties".
You'll get an alignment like the four images here...

You can speed up and slow down clips easily in any video editing program such as Sony vegas.
For example in vegas: you can import the clip - 'hold shift' - and drag the clip smaller...

Yes you can still have non Joomla pages (html pages) on a joomla site...
Simply create the page in html and save it - for example: "YourNewPageTitle.html" and upload the new html page...
