Send your page through a HTML verifier because there is probably invalid HTML that causes Chrome to mangle your HTML.

If you don't detect a problem, try moving the icon tag to the top of <head>....

Plenty of small lawyers use Gmail for their email. Use escrow as you mentioned, try to speak with them over the phone, and don't accept paper checks that can bounce after 2 weeks.

Just have them install a Wordpress plugin that generates a sitemap. Google will find it next time they visit. Some of the plugins also notify Google as well. Try Yoast.
