First find the topic relevant to affiliates. It will help you a lot to engage better with affiliate marketing. For example, if you create a blog about electronics gadgets or WordPress themes etc....

Agreed. That is why I am reluctant to go for paid traffic. I tried it in past and it was not a good experience. I would rather prefer to do SEO for few month and wait until people reach my website...
