Good for Pinterest! But I notice Pinterest doesn't seem to index very well when I practice SEO. It used to be better until it was punished by Google for forcing visitors to register to see content.

Good backlinks from a related niche will probably help more than social media. However, all sources of traffic are potentially valuable, including social media.

I believe Google recently enlarged the amount of characters allowable for snippets, but I agree with keeping meta descriptions from going over what's allowable. I normally aim for 115-130 characters....

Good. Popups not only make sites less accessible, they also at times jam up the computer of the visitor. They have become a bane and there needs to be a countermeasure or push back.
