Just choose one and stick with it. Make sure that you do your backlinking consistently only on one. If you go for www, then do all your backlinking efforts on www.

Nah, just keep building links. It is best if you shower it with increasing link velocity. Like give it 1000 links today, 1200 tomorrow, 1300 the day after tomorrow, etc.
