I usually get a conversion of 1%. The most important thing is to get "targetted" visitors to your site, who are far more likely to buy then say having a "8-12 age" group on your site.

Wrong, you arent using Yahoo explorer right. They have almost 2 k links.

Anyways, the most important thin is that your site is seo optimized, so you get a steady flow of visitors.

I would use a free tool as a start, Yahoo Site Explorer. It lists the most links you can get for free from a competitor's site, otherwise use Google Webmaster tools to find out your own links.
