Re: Too many backlinks to a single page (homepage)... penalized?

Point taken, and the point of the thread.

I'm thinking about setting up something like this:
xyzdomain.com/keyword1
xyzdomain.com/keyword2
xyzdomain.com/keyword3

Then building links to these...

Re: Too many backlinks to a single page (homepage)... penalized?

For a blog with 15 pages, yes.

For a site with 675K pages, probably not so much.

Re: Too many backlinks to a single page (homepage)... penalized?

Hmmm... not exactly sure what this means. Too many links built with the same anchor text?

This isn't out of the blue. This is a 2yr old domain, PR5. We've been building links at that volume...

Re: Too many backlinks to a single page (homepage)... penalized?

Further info:

The linkbuilding was pretty varied, I would say. Some low PRs for forums and articles, but sprinkled with PR3+ links throughout and in volume.

No other pages on the site have been...

Too many backlinks to a single page (homepage)... penalized?

So... is it a myth -- can you get penalized for too many backlinks to a single page?

I have a large site, about 675K indexed pages. While we were doing some SEO-related tweaks to some inner...

I should also say that I received a quote for over $50,000 for a "total SEO solution" which included the audit.

Website Auditor Review?

I have a pretty big site and I need a full audit.

I'm wondering if anyone has used Website Auditor from SEO PowerSuite before. Reviews?

How do they stack up vs. the competition (which is who?)...

Re: Dominating Google Hong Kong, but nothing on Google US -- why?

Yes, many, many things to list. I know we can do better on some of the inner pages on-page SEO, but the URL structure is good. Waiting until the new site is up before we do tuning. Same with speed.

1. Sign out of Google
2. Check the default in the Chrome browser (for me it's Hong Kong cause of location)...

Dominating Google Hong Kong, but nothing on Google US -- why?

Just one page drop. This is a deep page, not the homepage that is now not in the results.

The rest of the keyword SERPs have remained unaffected.

I see the following trends which has affected ROI on Adwords:
1. Click fraud
2. Competition (higher CPC)

I don't touch it. We blew about $5K. Just not useful for my type of online business.
