Sometimes quality links / content just isn't enough... plus it is often difficult to maximize profit with that model...

Of my hour of daily work I do per day, about 10 minutes of it is seo...

That's true if you want to put A LOT of work into it... However, that can also backfire because you are putting so much time and energy into creating quality content, you don't have any time to make...

Great point Hick... you should definitely have a long term strategy... unfortunately with SEO it seems that the only long term strategy you can have is to find what is working no and take advantage...

I think it would be the combination of both bounce rate and time on site... If Google sees most people going to a website and only staying on a few seconds before they bounce off of it, then Google...

Lars, one variable could be the keyword itself... Is there any pattern with the amount of traffic the keyword gets with how hard it got hit?... I would guess that Google is working from the top down,...

My opinion is similar to what Peterlaz said in his post.. I think Google is favoring the big companies and pushing out the smaller affiliates... I don't do affiliate marketing so I don't quite know...
