If its an article directory you have to be more cautious mainly because of google panda attitude towards it. Do read more about it in internet.

start adding contetn atleast 1 article a day if you can. I love adsense and i am sure that if you are good, adsense can keep you in its rolls and pay good.

They work for the moment you dont hit the google filters or their algorithms. Once you hit that you see many of them losing out on rankings. But if you see gogole panda update, the sites that are now...

You caught it right. After Google Panda web directories have got very cautious. Not only they deleting the poor stuff but also restricting what comes to their site. This is mainly with renowned ones...
