I did it with a EMD in 6 days. The only backlinking I did itially was bookmarks to get it indexed. That was when EMD mattered though. I am pretty sure that wouldn't happen now.

I made absolutely no changes at all. I wrote the site off to being colateral damage. To be honest I haven't even looked at the site since then.

I had two websites drop with Penguin. One came back today stronger than before the other faded into oblivion. Thats ok though I am cool with one vouncing back.

Personally I had this issue too with all my sites. Once I installed Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin (G.A.S.P) I have not had an issue. Check it out.
