In my experience, a new site even with very good nmber of links, will struggle to outrank Wiki. But, once your site get some age it will easily outrank Wiki. You need some site Age and some good...

If its forum based profiles then its almost hopeless. If its a social network/community based profile, try creating RSS feeds for them and submit them to RSS directories.
