Do not get hung up on the number of AdSense clicks you get. It will take AdSense a time to figure out what ads work best on your website/webpages.

I tried it for 2 weeks when it was first launched.
None of the backlinks appeared to be picked up by google. About 5 were shown in Yahoo Site Explorer. Not a very good return for 25 links a day...

Another way to keep an easy eye on this is to register your website with Google Webmaster Tools. Submit a sitemap with all your URLs.
The "Site configuration" tab will then keep you informed...

Yes it is ok.
In fact having either, or both, will not stop you getting indexed by Google - but, it may spread the link juice coming from backlinks.
