Domain names are a factor, but it's not the only factor. If your keywords are competitive, having a relevant domain name might help.

It's good to have a variety of backlinks so I would encourage using both forum and blog commenting. Forum posting is also good for networking and learning new things.

I see more wordpress sites using Yoast, but I've been happy with the All In One plugin. Just curious though, are there extra features in the Yoast that All In One doesn't offer?
