Just about everything has at least 1 negative review, you cant seem to please everyone. But it would really depend upon the product and short comings. 1-2% negative is not a deal breaker for me.

K so you created the accounts, make sure they are linked up to ping.fm. You do that part through ping.fm

Next, yes you need to install the shorten2ping pulg in on your self hosted wordpress blog....

Ping.fm sends updates that are posted to your main blog to other blogs(hosted on wordpress, blogger, etc), but also micro blogs(twitter, etc) and social networks(facebook, linkedin, etc).
