- At the end of your blog posts, you (in most of the posts atleast) have a call to action which says something like "Connect with me on Facebook", but nothing about your email...

OTOs are fine and should be done in some way right when you get a subscriber. Your list will expect what you regularly give them. So if you just give content for the first month and THEN try to sell...
