I mainly buy what is called 3rd party data. Which is fresh / targeted email leads of users...

It's not completely "Wrong" to buy a database of emails. Many tools like Hubspot (hubspot.com) even provide 100 email Ids for campaigns in their free plan. In my opinion, it's just the site you get...

it isn't "illegal" but the use you're making of it can be. They are easier and cheaper ways to gather email adresses. Just don't buy those lists from sellers who already sold them to x1000 hoping...
