Well, they're higher. Much less competition, and high taxes. You can't really outsource it to anyone who speaks English and promises to do it cheap. Our language doesn't even have that many relatives...

There are plenty of writers that charge $150-$250 article in every country / niche. But you won't find any of them on internet marketing forums.

The absolute max I would ever pay is $20/1000 words...

90% of my income comes from writing. $40 a piece is not unreasonable for a 500-word article, provided it is a perfect article. That works out to $.08/word, which is in the middle of what magazines...

It's not "essential," there is no such SEO rule. Look at examples of successful sites -- almost none of them have a lot of text on the home page....
