I never really wanted to try redbox until I was at Walgreens and the cashier gave me a coupon for free rental, and what can i say, i tried it and it worked! might work for your needs also... cheers...

Figure out how to do promotions near the locations you are putting them. So for colleges, you could contact college textbook resellers, and ask how much to include your promo material in every book...

Why do you need to market them?
Can't you just place one in a sport's arena, as mentioned, and give the SA a percentage of the sales?
Then, after one month, you will have an average...

Depending on where these machines will be, you could work out a deal with the stores (assuming the machines are set up right outside of stores like reboxes are) where the cashier inside hands each...
