Take option-2 (update the article with fresh keywords/content) and share that articles to the relavant interest audience and earn some quality backlinks that will help you a lot

Are most of the bounces on a specific page? What are the traffic sources contributing to bounces?

Just to be sure, are you defining bounce rate as the number of people who come to your site, visit one page and then leave?

If so, 80-90% is not uncommon. Especially if you are a niche site which...

The solution is you leave it just the way it is.. its just not considered duplicate content. There are close to 75 million wordpress sites on the net.. if this was a real problem..Im sure somewhere...
