Well for a start you will find your general niche. So lets use an example.

Say the niche is widgets that is your main keyword and ideally you should look for the .com .net...

You could try piwik it's free and stats are in realtime not 24 hours old.

Simply install onto a site on your hosting then for each new site you can add in the code and access the analytics...

Also though you may need to refresh your browser a few times before the new stuff shows. I have that problem with the Flock browser! It's very annoying!...
